Thank you so much to everyone who has already bought tickets. It really is going to be a great afternoon & evening and all in aid of a brilliant cause.

I have seen some of the lovely products that will be on sale in the marketplace and I promise it will be a shopper’s dream!

I am currently in the process of making a Noah’s Ark quilt for the raffle that will be held on the day – it is a work in progress, but I still have a while to get it finished!

We will also have lots of amazing raffle prizes, generously donated by Welsh celebrities and a fabulous Team GB Kit!

As everyone knows, events like these can only happen with the generous help of fantastic people. We thought it might be interesting to feature profiles of some of the people who have volunteered to help out on the day – coming soon!

Currently over 500 children from all over Wales miss out on hydrotherapy treatment each year. The Noah's Ark Appeal's Splish Splash Splosh campagin is aiming to raise the £500,000 needed to build a hydrotherapy pool at the Children's Hospital for Wales.

Hydrotherapy is a form of physiotherapy carried out in a heated purpose-built pool and helps patients with numerous conditions to strengthen joints and muscles and maintain movement. As the body is more supported in water children are often able to start hydrotherapy treatment much earlier and the heat and buoyancy of the water also makes hydrotherapy less painful than treatment on dry land. The pool is often a less threatening environment for children, they can relax, have fun and often they don't know that they are doing physiotherapy.

The following groups of children will greatly benefit from receiving hydrotherapy treatment at the Children's Hospital for Wales: Neurology patients (eg. head injuries, paediatric stroke), Neurosurgical patients (eg. removal of tumours, cerebral bleeds), Developmental delay patients (eg. downs syndrome, cerebral palsy), Orthopaedic patients (eg. spinal injury patients in rehab, multi-trauma), Oncology patients (eg. bone cancer, brain tumour) and Respiratory patients (eg. asthma).
