Stereophonics

I arrived home from work on Monday to find a lovely signed photograph from the Stereophonics to raffle/auction at the fundraising event in aid of the Splish Splash Splosh Appeal.

Thank you so much to them for supporting us.

I am a big fan and was just a little bit excited :-)!

The raffle will take place at the event and tickets will be available on the day. However it will be open to anyone else who might like to buy a ticket or two. We have more great prizes arriving every day & a full list will be here at the beginning of June.

All proceeds, as with everything else will be going to the Noah's Ark Appeal to build a hydrotherapy pool at the Children's Hospital for Wales.

Currently over 500 children from all over Wales miss out on hydrotherapy treatment each year. The Noah's Ark Appeal's Splish Splash Splosh campagin is aiming to raise the £500,000 needed to build a hydrotherapy pool at the Children's Hospital for Wales.

Hydrotherapy is a form of physiotherapy carried out in a heated purpose-built pool and helps patients with numerous conditions to strengthen joints and muscles and maintain movement. As the body is more supported in water children are often able to start hydrotherapy treatment much earlier and the heat and buoyancy of the water also makes hydrotherapy less painful than treatment on dry land. The pool is often a less threatening environment for children, they can relax, have fun and often they don't know that they are doing physiotherapy.

The following groups of children will greatly benefit from receiving hydrotherapy treatment at the Children's Hospital for Wales: Neurology patients (eg. head injuries, paediatric stroke), Neurosurgical patients (eg. removal of tumours, cerebral bleeds), Developmental delay patients (eg. downs syndrome, cerebral palsy), Orthopaedic patients (eg. spinal injury patients in rehab, multi-trauma), Oncology patients (eg. bone cancer, brain tumour) and Respiratory patients (eg. asthma).
